You can fix
stripped threads on the rear brake lever with a Permacoil kit. The
size of the pivot bolt is M8x1.25. You can practice this technique on a
scrap piece of aluminum before hacking into your frame. It is pretty
easy to do, and here is how...

First, drill out the old threads with appropriate drill bit. In this
case it is a 21/64. You may need to remove the peg to get a straight
shot at the hole.

Then, blow out the metal shavings with compressed air.

Next, use a tap handle and the provided tap to cut new threads.

Put the coil on the insert tool. Note the tang that is used to drive the coil.

Drive the coil into the newly cut threads. Make sure you drive it far enough that no threads are exposed on the outside.

Remember that tang? You will need to remove it.

A well placed blow with a screwdriver will pop it off.

Finished product -good as new!
